His Majesty King Abdullah II affirmed on Tuesday that the world is experiencing an exceptional moment in which crises and challenges are accelerating, stressing that what the international community chooses to give its attention to determines the fate of conflicts and humanitarian crises, and warning that what we neglect today often shapes our future.

In an address delivered during the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, His Majesty said that the continuation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict without a solution for decades resulted from the international community’s choice to contain the conflict instead of addressing its resolution, stressing that what is happening in Gaza and the West Bank cannot be treated as separate events.
